Hamamatsu develops new infrared window film: the key technology of infrared spectrometer

Infrared spectroscopy can be used to study the molecular structure and chemical composition of the substance, so it is widely used in the fields of drug quality monitoring, oil identification, industrial atmospheric spatial characteristics measurement, etc., and infrared spectrometers for infrared spectroscopy have become this The key to the specific implementation of technology. In this type of instrument, infrared optical window is an indispensable device, and its quality directly affects the performance of the infrared spectrometer.

In the industry, the existing infrared optical materials can be applied to both the mid-infrared and far-infrared bands. The most widely used infrared windows are potassium bromide and sodium chloride, but both materials have deliquescence problems that greatly limit their application. At present, an original called KRS-5 window piece stands out because of its wide infrared transmission range and its tendency to deliquesce.

KRS-5, also known as bismuth bromide iodide, is a mixed crystal of barium bromide and barium iodide. It is orange-red, not easy to deliquesce, and has good permeability to infrared rays, especially in the air. The band, in the region of wavelength 0.6~40μm, its transmittance can reach more than 70%. It is an excellent infrared material, which can be used to make infrared optical parts, windows, lenses, combined objective lenses, prisms, etc.

However, the production process of KRS-5 crystal is technically difficult, and its production and application are mainly concentrated overseas and expensive. In response to this situation, Beijing Hamamatsu Photonics Technology Co., Ltd. successfully developed the KRS-5 crystal through technical research, filling the gap in the field in China. Its crystal performance is comparable to that of similar foreign products, and its price has great advantages compared with foreign crystals. At the same time, Hamamatsu can provide customized services for the crystal device in addition to conventional specifications, such as processing various sheets, square prisms, button crystals, tapered crystals, etc. KRS-5 window grinding, polishing and other treatments are provided to make the application range and application performance more outstanding.

Stellite tipped saws have shown to be able to:

•Increase run times.

•Cut with thinner kerf.

•Produce a smoother sawn surface.

•Reduce sawing variations - Better cutting accuracy. (allowing for tighter target sizes)

•Reduce the power consumption during cutting.

•Reduce the cutting downtime for saw changes and saw maintenance.

•Increased saw life due to the ability to achieve more sharpening and at longer intervals.

Stellite is also more resistant to the abrasive acids found in some woods like red cedar.

This allows the tips to stay sharp longer than carbide tips and significantly longer

than swaged saw steel when cutting unseasoned woods.

We have produced more than 100 kinds of specifications tips and export to Canada, USA,

France, New Zealand, Australia, Norway and Russia etc. more than 40 countries and areas.
