The second outdoor furniture and courtyard leisure products exhibition recently opened
The second outdoor furniture and courtyard leisure products exhibition will take place in Linhai, Zhejiang, from October 28th to 31st. Organized by the China Light Industry Handicraft Exporters Association, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhejiang Branch, and the Linhai Municipal People's Government, this event is expected to attract a wide range of industry professionals, buyers, and exhibitors.
Outdoor furniture refers to a variety of furnishings designed for use in open or semi-open spaces, aimed at enhancing people's health, comfort, and efficiency during outdoor activities. It includes urban public outdoor furniture, courtyard leisure furniture, commercial outdoor furniture, and portable outdoor furniture. These products have become essential elements in modern living, blending aesthetics with functionality.

According to Ye Yujie, Secretary-General of the Linhai Leisure Products Industry Association, the outdoor furniture and courtyard leisure products sector was once considered an "imported" industry. After the reform and opening-up, many Taiwanese businessmen introduced outdoor leisure products to the mainland, and local companies in Linhai began producing parts for these foreign clients. By 2012, the output value of outdoor leisure products in Linhai reached over 19 billion yuan, with exports exceeding 16.1 billion yuan, including 1.29 billion U.S. dollars in self-operated exports. This highlights how the majority of these products are exported overseas.
However, the industry faced challenges due to the complex international trade environment and shrinking global markets. Despite this, Linhai has managed to maintain stability in its foreign trade through enterprise innovation and the expansion of export channels. From January to September this year, the output value grew by approximately 10% year-on-year. Although domestic procurement has increased in recent years, domestic consumption remains relatively low, accounting for around 5% to 8%. With ongoing efforts to strengthen both domestic and international markets, the future of Linhai’s outdoor leisure products industry looks promising.
