The research and development process of Guohe No. 1 was also full of hardships, and the construction process of the nuclear power plant was repeatedly delayed. The Sanmen Power Plant originally planned to use the AP1000 nuclear power reactor. As a result, it was delayed for 5 years before it was connected to the grid at the end of last year. Fortunately, Guohe No. 1 Nuclear power technology is now successfully qualitatively developed by the government.
The Science and Technology Daily reported that Qian Zhimin, chairman of the State Power Investment Corporation, announced at the National Power Investment Innovation Conference held on the 21st that the development of China ’s third-generation nuclear power independent model “Guo No. 1†(CAP1400) equipment has been basically completed. The localization rate of demonstration engineering equipment reached more than 85%, effectively forming the domestic third-generation nuclear power equipment industrial chain.
This indicates that China has fully mastered the third-generation passive nuclear power technology, and nuclear power technology has reached world-class level.
According to reports, “Guohe No. 1†(CAP1400) is a large-scale advanced passive pressurized water reactor nuclear power model with independent intellectual property rights and greater power formed by re-innovation based on the introduction of digestion and absorption of the third-generation AP1000 nuclear power technology. Reached 1500 MW, successfully surpassed the technical threshold of 1350 MW set by the AP1000 technology introduction contract. It is based on the passive safety concept, adopts the latest international standards, meets the strictest emission requirements, fully implements the defense-in-depth concept, and realizes passive security. No human intervention is required within 72 hours after the accident. It can effectively respond to extreme events such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and large aircraft impacts, and meet the requirements for the actual elimination of large-scale radioactive releases. It is the safest and most advanced third-generation nuclear power model in the world today. In April 2016, it passed the general safety review of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and gained international recognition.
Relying on the research achievements of major national scientific and technological special projects undertaken by State Power Investment Corporation, "Guohe No. 1" has so far achieved the localization of its main equipment such as pressure vessels, steam generators, control rod drive mechanisms, and blast valves; large forgings, The key materials of the steam generator 690 heat transfer tube, nuclear-grade zirconium material, nuclear-grade welding material and other materials have basically been localized; the development of independent advanced nuclear fuel sizing components has been successfully developed; 11 pumps and 10 types of valve engineering prototypes have basically been developed. As a result, its overall performance, especially its economy, is better than AP1000, and the subsequent batch production cost can be further reduced by more than 10%.
