Russia develops more economical waste recycling methods

Scientists at the Tomsk University of Technology in Russia have developed a method of using industrial and municipal waste as a mixed fuel component and comprehensively recycling it by burning. Researchers believe that this saves at least half of the money compared to traditional coal methods. Related research results were published in the journal Energy.

Hybrid fuel is a new modern energy source for thermal power plants, which replaces coal to produce electrical and thermal energy. Mixed fuel is usually a mixture of different components, including low-quality coal, combustible solid public waste, waste oil, sewage, and biological materials. The content of the components varies greatly according to the specific use.

Compared with coal, the advantage of mixed fuel is low cost, and the basic cost depends on the transportation and preparation of each component. In addition, sulfur and nitrogen oxides are low in exhaust gas from mixed fuels.

The use of new energy, that is, unused waste, in the fuel and energy complex can reduce coal consumption.
