The new lithium-ion battery will self-repair or what the explosion?

According to foreign media TechRadar, foreign researchers have developed a new type of lithium-ion battery that can repair itself in the near future even if it is damaged, and continue to supply power to the device as if it were never damaged.

It is understood that this new generation of batteries adopts a series of carbon nanotubes using lamellar polymers, which can not only prevent the battery from leaking, but also allow the damaged surface to self-repair. At present, the research results have been published in the magazine "AngewandteChemie".

Taking into account the flexibility of this new type of lithium battery, the safety of human wearing and the ability to repair itself, the researchers believe it is very suitable for wearable devices, especially those that are likely to be damaged wearable devices.

Researchers said that this kind of self-healing battery will not break under pressure. If a traditional lithium-ion battery breaks, bends, or suffers too much pressure, it may not only cause the battery to be scrapped, but also may leak various kinds of poisons. Corrosive or flammable chemicals.

However, this technology is still at an experimental stage, so we would like to see it appear on Fitbit or AppleWatch and other wearable devices may need to wait for some time.
