Annual Demand The amount of 800 million anti-mite mask manufacturing standards do you know how much?

Sporting, cold-proof, activated charcoal, and one-time use, Luo Chen, who studied in Beijing, bought a variety of anti-mite masks. “Now masks are necessities, and wearing them is better than not wearing them.” In recent years, buying masks has become a habit of some citizens. However, one of the reasons why consumers have a mixed effect on the anti-mite effects of the PM2.5 protective masks sold on the market is that the production standard of PM2.5 protective masks has not been uniformly approved by the market.

Mask market disorder competition

According to the statistics of China Textile Commerce Association, the annual demand for various types of protective masks in China is around 800 million. According to its use of masks, industrial protective masks, medical hygiene masks and civilian masks are classified into three categories. The annual demand for masks for civil use is about 200 million, accounting for 25% of the demand.

An interview with the reporter found that many enterprises that originally produced industrial protective masks and medical hygiene masks also successively developed and produced PM2.5 protective masks. According to statistics, before 2013, there were about 500 companies that produced masks in China, which currently grow to nearly 1,000. It is estimated that about 600 million protective masks will be produced each year.

On the one hand, there is a large amount of demand, and on the other hand, supply is "orderless."

At present, many of the PM2.5 protective masks on the market do not have the same PM2.5 protection function because they do not have a uniform logo, they have uneven quality, they have mixed brands, and they steal protection concepts. These problems not only make it difficult for consumers to choose, but also prevent their health from being effectively guaranteed.

Industrial protection standards are not fully applicable

“The mask I bought is still an industry standard and the effect should be good,” Luo Chen told reporters. However, some experts said that industrial dust masks were misused in the market, causing huge health risks to consumers.

“The majority of manufacturers of anti-fog and smog masks on the market are still using the industrial dust respirator GB2626 standard,” said Lei Limin, secretary-general of the China Textile Business Association. “There are also some US standards that started with the N95. , or the European standards that began with the FFP, but these standards are not applicable to civilian masks, such as industrial dust masks have strict restrictions on the conditions of wear, use a long time, it is easy to cause dizziness and other unwell conditions."

It is understood that the current national mandatory standards for masks are not yet fully applicable to civilian anti-haze masks. GB2626-2006 "Respiratory protective equipment - self-absorbing filter type particulate respirator" is mainly aimed at labor protection products, and GB19083-2010 "medical protective mask technical requirements" and YY0469-2011 "medical surgical mask" is a medical protection standard.

The "Protective masks for daily protection" formally implemented this month is the recommended standard, and it is also not mandatory as the "PM2.5 protective mask" group standard implemented in March.

Recommended, group standards require market inspection

Li Guimei, member of the National Textile Standardization Committee's Industrial Textiles Sub-Committee, introduced that the National Standard for Protective Face Masks, "Protective Masks for Everyday Protective Masks," set 15 indicators in terms of safety performance, hygienic performance, and protective performance, respectively.

In this national standard, the level of protection effectiveness is set according to China's air quality index category, and is divided into four levels from low to high: D-level, C-level, B-level, and A-level. Consumers wearing masks in accordance with the standard requirements can reduce the concentration of inhaled PM2.5 to less than 75 micrograms per cubic meter, so that the air quality in the inhaled body can reach good or above.

One of the group standard drafters of “PM2.5 Respirator”, Gao Fei, deputy secretary-general of the Safety and Health Protection Products Committee of the China Textile Commerce Association, said that PM2.5 protective masks need good comfort in addition to the protective effect. At the same time, PM2.5 protective masks are in direct contact with human mouth, nose, and face. It is also necessary to consider microbial and pH indicators.

According to Zhu Liping, director of the mask manufacturing company Chaomi CM's R&D center, these two standards have regulated the uneven quality of anti-smog masks. Group standards have higher requirements for respiratory resistance, and the new national standard takes into account the level of air quality. There are also industry insiders who say that which standard companies use to produce still needs the consumer market to test.
