Gardenia pest control: Gardenia plants are often susceptible to yellowing leaves and leaf spot disease. For leaf spot, it's recommended to use 600 times dilution of dexamethasone WP. Common pests include thorn moths, scale insects, and whiteflies. Thorns can be treated with 2.5% emulsifiable concentrate of insecticide at a 3000 times dilution, while scale insects and whiteflies can be controlled using 40% omethoate EC diluted 1500 times.
Diseases:
1. Yellowing disease is quite common and can be caused by various factors. It’s important to identify the root cause and take appropriate measures. Using well-rotted manure or cake fertilizer is usually effective. When iron deficiency occurs, the veins of young leaves turn yellow, which can lead to complete yellowing of the leaves, wilting, and eventually plant death. In such cases, spraying a 0.2% to 0.5% solution of ferrous sulfate can help. Magnesium deficiency causes yellowing that starts from older leaves and spreads to newer ones, with green veins remaining visible. Severe cases may result in leaf drop and plant death. A 0.7% to 0.8% boron magnesium fertilizer spray can be used in these situations. Overwatering, freezing temperatures, or poor drainage can also cause yellowing, so proper care is essential.
Nitrogen deficiency results in pale, small, and brittle new leaves. Potassium deficiency leads to browning of old leaves, while phosphorus deficiency causes purple or dark red discoloration on older leaves.
2. Sooty mold disease affects branches and leaves. Once detected, it can be cleaned with water or treated with a 0.3% sulfur suspension or 1000–1200 times diluted carbendazim.
3. Rot disease typically appears on the lower trunk, causing swelling and cracking. If found early, scraping the affected area and applying a 5–10 degree lime sulfur mixture can be effective.
Pests: Aphids, beetles, and larvae can damage gardenias. The first two can be controlled using dimethoate or trichlorfon, while larvae can be managed manually or with 666 powder.
During winter, if indoor conditions are poorly ventilated and humidity is high, gardenias are more prone to scale insect infestations, often accompanied by sooty mold. Scale insects can be removed with a bamboo stick or small brush, or sprayed with a 20å· petroleum emulsion mixed with 100–150 times water. Sooty mold can be washed off with water or treated with 1000 times diluted carbendazim.
Proper maintenance and regular monitoring are key to keeping your gardenia healthy and vibrant.
Escalator Modernization
Our escalator modernization solutions can ensure the escalator's compliance with the latest standards, improve its energy efficiency, safety and reliability, while increasing its lifespan.
Escalator modernization improves safety, reliability, accessibility, and visual appearance, and also lowers energy costs.
The truss may last as long as your building, but mechanical components will wear and become outdated. Modernizing steps, balustrades, and lighting will help to maintain a fresh, modern appearance.  With modernization your escalators will become more energy efficient, reliable and most importantly safer.
Compared to older equipment, a modernized escalator does the job better. Less waiting and frustration, and fewer breakdowns – all from your existing escalator or autowalk. Updating the drive and chain components of your equipment will have a significant impact on its performance.
