Construction of the Dixler Berlin Lithium Battery Factory

According to foreign media reports, German Chancellor Angela Merkel participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of a lithium battery factory near Berlin on Monday (May 22, 2017), which is expected to be completed in 2018. The plant's investment is 500 million euros (about 543 million US dollars), which is responsible for the assembly of lithium batteries for Daimler.

Murdoch said that Germany and the automotive industry must invest heavily in electric vehicles to avoid falling behind competitors in the transformation of electric vehicles. The plant is positioned as a European battery super factory and will face challenges from Tesla in the future.
