Recently, China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute has successfully developed a new type of high temperature resistant electromagnetic coil with a temperature resistance level of 440 for the control rod drive mechanism of nuclear power plants. It is reported that the electromagnetic coil has a high temperature resistance level and reaches the world's leading level. Its successful development can eliminate the ventilation control and cooling system of the top control rod drive mechanism, simplify the top structure, save installation costs, shorten the construction cycle, and thus improve the economy of Hualong No. Sex. At the same time, it also improves the reliability and service life of the control rod drive mechanism, thereby improving the safety of Hualong One. After double verification of theoretical calculations and experiments, the control rod drive mechanism using a 440-level electromagnetic coil has the ability to operate for a long time without ventilation and cooling.

Improving the temperature resistance of the control rod drive mechanism has always been one of the development directions for the performance improvement of the control rod drive mechanism. For the control rod drive mechanism, the temperature resistance of the whole machine mainly depends on the temperature resistance of the electromagnetic coil. In a large and complex nuclear reactor system, the electromagnetic coil is like a neuron on the human body, it seems to be insignificant, but it is really involved. These neurons are the starting point of innovation and "shujinhuoluo", and also determine the "acupoint lifeline" of the entire system.

It is understood that in order to further improve the temperature resistance level of the electromagnetic coil, the professional group of control rod drive mechanism carries out technical research in terms of structure, materials, manufacturing technology and other aspects. Shelf life is completed on schedule. Based on the above development and test verification, the control rod drive mechanism successfully adopted the 440-grade high-temperature-resistant coil as a major improvement item.
