China's refined zinc imports increased by 133% year-on-year in February 2012

China Merchants Information Network monitoring data show that in February 2012, China imported 39,200 tons of refined zinc, a decrease of 18.12% compared with the previous period, an increase of 133.01%, from January to February cumulative imports of 85,700 tons, an increase of 73.11%.

From the perspective of importing countries, South Korea surpassed Australia to become the country with the largest import of refined zinc in February. The import volume reached 9,437 tons, an increase of 269.79% compared with the previous period, Australia and Peru ranked second and third, and the import volume was 8,597 tons and 8,205 tons. Among them, the amount of imports from Australia decreased significantly, and it was reduced by nearly half. In addition, the amount of refined zinc imported from Japan in February increased more than that in January. In February, imports were 3,099 tons, an increase of 87.59%.
