American scientists invented dental tattoos to detect bacteria in the human body

The "dental tattoo" is actually an electronic chip sensor made of graphene material that can collect and report bacterial information through respiration.

According to the British "Daily Mail" reported on April 2, scientists at Princeton University have recently developed a "dental tattoo" that can detect pathogens in the body. This “dental tattoo” can be used to collect “bacterial intelligence” from the mouth of the patient during a call and a breath and report it to the medical personnel responsible for monitoring through the built-in wireless network signal device.

The "dental tattoo" is not actually a pattern carved on the teeth, but a planar electronic chip sensor made of high-tech graphene materials. Scientists at the Princeton University research team experimented with a cow's teeth. They implanted a "dental tattoo" on their surface and arranged for a person to exhale on the "dental tattoo." The linked monitoring computer immediately received information on the bacteria collected from the breath by the “dental tattoo”. Scientists could immediately start analyzing whether these bacteria might be further infected or spread.

"We hope to apply this advanced technology to the military or hospitals so that medical personnel can monitor the bacteria through the use of 'dental tattoos' whether they are soldiers who have been injured in battle or patients whose immune system is weak. Infection and spread," said Melker, a researcher involved in the study.

Currently, Princeton University scientists are applying for a patent certificate for the invention, hoping to apply it early in clinical treatment.
