Zhongwang CAD Building Edition's rich and complete library management system
As an architect, the core functions of building CAD software can be summarized in two key aspects: first, whether the software offers a convenient and user-friendly block library; second, whether these graphic blocks comply with building codes and industry standards. In the new Zhongwang CAD+ Architectural Edition, I believe these two requirements are well addressed.
The Zhongwang CAD Building Edition comes with a comprehensive and well-organized library management system that includes building-specific libraries aligned with national standards as well as general-purpose libraries for structural design and interior decoration. This system enables designers to efficiently organize, manage, and utilize their design materials. The interface is designed to be familiar and intuitive, resembling traditional CAD software interfaces.

In addition to its built-in libraries, the Zhongwang CAD+ Architectural Edition supports the addition and bulk import of tiles. It also introduces a new feature called "Merge Observation," which simplifies the process of searching and accessing library resources. Let's take a closer look at the library management system.
**New and Rebuilt Tiles**
Beyond the pre-installed dedicated and general-purpose libraries, the Zhongwang CAD+ Building Edition allows users to insert and add external tiles. Through the “New Tiles†function, users can save custom graphic blocks into the library management system. These tiles are stored in DWG files and can be imported using the "Bulk Import" feature.

Users can also create new categories to better manage their custom libraries, distinguishing them from the default system libraries. The open architecture of the library management system allows both system and user libraries to coexist seamlessly.

During maintenance and updates, developers and users can each maintain their own libraries. This setup helps users avoid the previous awkward situations—either using outdated user-modified libraries or outdated system-provided ones. Instead, it allows users to replace their custom libraries with more updated and accurate versions.
In the Zhongwang CAD Building Edition, existing tile libraries can be updated by rebuilding the tiles, including updating descriptions and other details.
**Organizing Blocks**
The materials in the library can be renamed, categorized, copied, moved between categories, or deleted. These operations are similar to file management in the operating system, including drag-and-drop functionality and multi-selection of tiles.
**Drag and Drop Operation Rules**
- Dragging and dropping within the gallery performs a move operation; the tile is not copied.
- Dragging and dropping between galleries performs a copy operation. However, users can perform a non-copy move by holding down the Shift key.

**Combined Observation**
To make it easier to browse and select tiles, the Zhongwang CAD+ Building Edition includes a "Combined Observation" feature. In merge mode, individual libraries under the gallery set are logically combined, making it easier to filter and retrieve specific tile categories. Users no longer need to search through multiple libraries individually, significantly improving browsing efficiency.
When adding or modifying tiles, users can switch to "Unmerge Mode" to edit tiles or expand the library based on system-defined or custom classifications.

With the improved library management system in the Zhongwang CAD+ Architectural Edition, designers can access and expand their libraries more easily and efficiently. This not only enhances the speed of tile retrieval but also ensures safe storage and convenient use of design materials.
This is another practical feature developed by Zhongwang CAD that aligns closely with real-world user needs. Designers who have similar requirements may find this edition worth exploring.
