According to the temperature, pressure, presence or absence of particles, and the viscosity of the liquid being transported, shielded pumps can be classified into several types, including the standard type (basic type), reverse circulation type, high-temperature type, high-melting-point type, pump type, pneumatic diaphragm pump type, electric diaphragm pump type, self-priming type, mud separation type, as well as specialized shielded pumps designed for use in ships, nuclear power plants, and absorption refrigeration systems.

â‘ Standard Type (Basic Type)
This type is mainly used for transporting liquids with low vapor pressure, moderate temperature, and no solid particles. The operating temperature generally does not exceed 150°C, and the basic single-stage impeller model can achieve a head of up to 220 meters. It is widely applied in general industrial applications where the medium is relatively simple and non-hazardous.
â‘¡ Reverse Circulation Type
This type of shielded pump features an internal circulation structure that creates high pressure within the impeller, making it ideal for handling easily vaporizable liquids. It is also sometimes referred to as the "easy vaporization type." As shown in Figure 2-16, this design helps prevent cavitation and ensures stable operation even under challenging conditions. It is particularly suitable for transporting volatile substances such as solvents or light hydrocarbons.
