If there is a non-fully open gate valve or regulating valve upstream, the length of the straight pipe section upstream of the flowmeter should be increased to 10 times the inner diameter of the pipe. 12. The flowmeter should normally be installed in a horizontal position. The connection between the two electrodes should be on the same level. 13. To prevent negative pressure, the flowmeter elevation should be slightly lower than the pipeline's elevation, or a certain head pressure on the downstream side of the flowmeter. 14. The inner diameter of the electromagnetic flowmeter should be the same as the inner diameter of the pipe. If the inner diameter is not uniform, the inner diameter of the pipe should be larger than the inner diameter of the flowmeter, and a tapered or expanded pipe with a taper angle of not more than 15 should be installed between them. 15. When the electromagnetic flowmeter is installed obliquely or vertically, the flow direction should be from top to bottom. 16. For pipelines that do not allow flow interruption in the process, bypass piping and cleaning should be added when installing the flowmeter.
