A rectangular slide stem is attached to the spool valve ring, allowing it to move vertically and horizontally within the semicircular guide. This movement divides the pump chamber into two separate sections: chamber A and chamber B. As the pump operates, the volumes of these two chambers change periodically. This allows the gas to be drawn into the expanding chamber, while the compressed gas is expelled through the exhaust valve when the chamber volume decreases. In a two-stage sliding valve pump, two single-stage pumps are connected in series. The high and low vacuum chambers are housed within the same casing, either cast as a single unit or separated by a partition. This design enhances the pump’s efficiency and performance under varying vacuum conditions. With the continuous growth of the vacuum industry, new types of vacuum pumps have emerged. However, the maintenance procedures for most vacuum pumps remain similar. One important consideration is the type of oil used—especially if the gas being pumped is corrosive. Choosing the right lubricant is crucial to ensure the longevity and reliability of the vacuum pump.
