Knowledge of building materials: working principle and function of home water purifier

Today's living standards have improved. Everyone has begun to pay attention to the quality of life. The quality of drinking water has caused great attention. In order to allow people to drink safe and reliable drinking water, a variety of household purified water as a commodity, has entered a large number of ordinary families.

The following describes the principle and role of several home pure water purifiers:

Reverse Osmosis Principle

Permeation is defined as the natural penetration of a solvent (ie, water) through a semipermeable membrane into a solution or from a dilute solution to a more concentrated solution. However, permeation can be stopped by adding an appropriate pressure to one side of the concentrated solution. The pressure at which the permeation of a dilute solution to a concentrated solution stops is called the osmotic pressure of the solution, at which time the osmotic equilibrium is reached.

The definition of reverse osmosis: add a higher pressure than the natural osmotic pressure on one side of the dope, reverse the natural direction of infiltration, and press the solvent (water) in the concentrated solution into the dilute solution on the other side of the semipermeable membrane. This is the same with the natural world. The normal infiltration process is the opposite and is therefore called reverse osmosis.

The main application areas are: desalination of seawater and brackish water, preparation of pure water and ultrapure water, industrial water treatment, and purification of drinking water.
